Building Community Strength in Peterborough’s Landmark Complex
Miskin Law Community Complex
This past January, the City of Peterborough, Ontario celebrated the opening of their new community center project. The city actively engaged the community in the design process, hosting public information sessions to gather feedback, with the aim of enhancing recreational opportunities and improving the quality of life for Peterborough residents.

Located at Lansdowne and Park Streets, the state-of-the art, $62-million, 121,500 sq.ft. facility features two NHL-size ice pads, an indoor walking track, multi-purpose spaces, commercial office space, and a local library branch. In the main entrance’s two-storey atrium, a public art installation builds awareness of Indigenous cultures, heritage and sport. The complex has been named the Miskin Law Community Complex, following a 10-year sponsorship agreement with a local litigation firm. Future plans include an aquatics center with an indoor swimming pool.
Ocean Steel is happy to have completed this project alongside Ball Construction to deliver 575 tons of structural steel and install 120,000 sq.ft. of deck.
